Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We keep things simple — we collect only what we need to run the service.

Information we collect

DJ accounts

When you create an account as a DJ, we collect your email address, an optional display name, and a hashed password managed by Supabase Auth. We also store your session history and song request data associated with your account.

Guests (no account required)

Guests submit song requests without creating an account. We temporarily store the requester name and song title you submit as part of a session queue. This data is tied to the session, not to any personal profile.

Contact form

If you contact us via the contact form, we receive your name, email, and message. This is sent to our inbox and not stored in the database.

How we use your information

  • —To operate and provide the Song Queue service
  • —To authenticate your account and keep sessions secure
  • —To send a one-time welcome email when you sign up as a DJ
  • —To respond to support or contact requests

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.

Third-party services

Supabase — Handles authentication and hosts our database. Your account data is stored on Supabase infrastructure.

Email communication

When you create a DJ account, we send a single welcome email from hello@song-queue.com. We do not send marketing newsletters or promotional emails. If you'd prefer not to receive any emails from us, reply to the welcome email and we'll remove you immediately.

Data retention

Your account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Session and queue data is retained indefinitely to support your session history, but contains no sensitive personal information beyond requester names entered during a session.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@song-queue.com. If you are located in the EU or UK, you also have the right to access, correct, or port your data. Contact us at the same address for any such requests.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Song Queue after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
